Title: Rage
This is my most recent work for my sustained investigation in AP Drawing. As an artist, I aim to express one emotion with every piece so that when all of my work is combined together, I create a comprehensive description of the human experience. Rage is the emotion that I intended to express with this piece. To display that, I used a mix of ink and graphite to show all the detail and ugly grittiness that pops to mind when you think of rage: a furrowed brow, popping veins and an overwhelming feeling that can take over your mind. Of course, everyone in life has experienced rage before. It’s a part of the human experience and I want my art to encapsulate that. I want a range of emotions that everyone feels to be shown in my pieces when the entire investigation is finished. I want to have a piece about diligence, a sense of fulfillment, a sense of loss; things that everybody has felt. That unity between all of our emotions, that universal constant is what I think the human experience is, and I want to draw it.
