Innovation, collaboration, and effort are key elements of the learning process in the Chappaqua Central School District (CCSD). The district’s new website, released on February 16th, is meant to display all the opportunities that are available to students from kindergarten to twelfth grade, as well as those taking Continuing Education classes.
This new website aims to allow students, faculty, and community members to find relevant information in a more efficient way. Sections such as “News and Announcements” as well as “Upcoming Events” spotlight both recent and upcoming community news, events, and accolades.
Dr. Adam Schoenbart, the district’s Associate Director of Technology and Communication, led the website redesign. He says, “Throughout the district, our classrooms, instruction, and learning spaces are innovative and modern, but our website was a few years old. We wanted to create a more modern, engaging, user-friendly, and accessible experience to better meet the needs of our community. We also hoped to provide easier access to information about our schools, academics, and programs.”
Scrolling down the website, an overview of the district is offered. All six schools are linked on the home page, as well as the district’s strategic priorities. Budget information, Board of Education meetings, and the calendar are also highlighted on the homepage. On the bottom, unique aspects of the district such as the Sustainability Research Center, STEAM Centers, and Hydroponics Labs are highlighted.
Along with the district’s new website, each school’s website was redesigned. Lunch menus, health office information, and the school’s staff directory are now one of the first things in view and can be reached with a click. Dr. Schoenbart adds, “From building-specific news to information about our academics, they are rebuilt to share relevant and timely information with our students, staff, and families. The previous site had a lot of the same links and resources on every school’s page; now, each schools’ site is customized with information, links, and resources specific to their school’s audience.”
From academics to enrichment, CCSD’s various opportunities for students, faculty and community members are showcased in an organized and modern way with the redesigned website.
