Varsity Field Hockey Senior Recognition Game Highlights 2024

Greeley Girls Varsity Field Hockey delivered an electrifying performance in their senior recognition game against Ossining on Monday, October 7th, celebrating their three seniors with an impressive 10-0 victory. The spotlight shone brightly on 12th graders Mia Brown, Nina Byrne, and Aidan Lane, all of whom have been pivotal members of the team since their freshman year.
Aidan Lane wasted no time making her mark, scoring the first goal just two minutes into the game. Junior Eve Rutman followed suit with a powerful straight hit, doubling the lead with the second goal. Senior Nina Byrne then showcased her skill, netting the third goal with a commanding penalty shot that left the crowd roaring.
But the onslaught didn’t stop there. The Greeley offense continued to shine, with six additional goals from a talented lineup, including freshman Nicole Weyne and juniors Lilah Tainsky, Luísa Vieira, Olivia Parekh, and Phoebe Warshaw.
With just two minutes left in the third quarter, Mia Brown took her shot, becoming the third and final senior to score on senior night, capping the game with the decisive 10th goal.
Greeley Girls Field Hockey has had an outstanding season so far, and fans are eager to see their success continue as the season progresses. Congratulations to Aidan, Nina, and Mia on a memorable senior night!
