With finals coming up, many students are searching for the perfect study spot. Finding the right place to study can make a huge difference in your level of productivity and work accomplishment. Whether you prefer a more lively atmosphere or a quieter area, Chappaqua has options for every kind of student for all of their needs.
Option 1: The Chappaqua Library
Located right in the center of town, the Chappaqua library is one of the most popular study spots for many Greeley students. It is surrounded by a variety of food options, helpful resources, and lots of space to work. That being said, it does get busy. It’s almost impossible to go to this library without running into someone from school, which works well for collaborative groups but not as well if you thrive in complete quiet. Especially as finals approach, it can be difficult to book a breakout room or even find a desk to work. For students who plan on studying for hours, the library has reliable wifi and assets that can increase productivity before tests.
Option 2: Barnes and Noble
This year, studying in Barnes and Noble has become more popular, especially as spots in the Chappaqua Library fill up. Barnes and Noble is a traditional bookstore that also sells games, toys, and other small items. The location in Mount Kisco features a Starbucks Cafe, with tables that can be used for studying as well as snacking. While this location definitely attracts fewer people than the Chappaqua library, there is still a sense of a livelier environment with many shoppers roaming around. To that end, since Barnes and Noble is not a traditional library, there is definitely a lack of studying spots and resources like whiteboards, books, and printers. It’s a great place for students who prefer a business atmosphere with some background noise, but not always the best for a full dialed in study session
Option 3: Mimi’s Cafe
Another in demand studying spot is Mimi’s Cafe, also located in Mount Kisco. Mimi’s Cafe is a local coffee shop with its own cozy feel that attracts many students, especially those desiring their amazing drinks and food. Limited seating is a big problem for many students seeking to study at Mimi’s, because the cafe itself is small with only a few tables. On nice days, their outdoor seating can be perfect for light reviewing, but may not be ideal for students cramming intensely.
Option 4: The Horace Greeley Library
The library at school is perfect for studying during lunch or a free period. The space is very spread out, with many seating arrangements for different needs to fit your studying style. If you are stressing for a test next period and need silence, one of the many breakout rooms is perfect to work in. On the other hand, if you want to work with others, the Greeley library offers many tables and other study areas with almost infinite resources to use. Additionally, if you are staying after school, the library is open until 4:00 and will likely be emptier than during school hours.
