After coasting past Mamaroneck, the Quakers were challenged at home by Rye on May 27th. Despite trailing 4-1 after losing the first set, Owen D. and Miles B. did not give up. The pair clawed back, showing tremendous grit, making the score 5-5. The pair then saved seven match points, repeatedly fending off elimination before winning back-to-back tie breakers to clinch the match. Within five minutes of the doubles victory, Idan Y. shut the door in a singles matchup to send Greeley to the championship. On top of Idan, Owen, and Miles’s success, Drew N. and Henry X. dominated in their singles matchups. Henry also recently came in third in the individual sectional tournament, and will be competing at states in early June. The Quakers will be rematching Scarsdale in the finals at Harrison High School on 3/28 at 6:30 PM, as they look to get revenge after two losses to them earlier this year.
