The Greeley Varsity Boys Tennis Team is off to an exciting start to the 2026 season. With strong leadership from seniors Idan Y., Jonah H., Owen D., Aiden G., and Leif S., the team has high expectations for a fun and successful season. Juniors Henry X., Jacob A., Benjamin B., Cristian C., Jed L., Cole R., Caden S., and Jason D. bring experience and unity to the mix. Sophomore Drew N. and freshmen Miles B., Nathan D., and Ryan H. round out the team, bringing energy and enthusiasm. The team is managed by senior Zach N., who is headed to Vanderbilt University next year. He is a leader off the court and gets the team psyched up for big matches.

While tennis is often considered an individual sport, the team focuses on teamwork and building connections on and off the court. Singles player Idan Y. who is heading to Brown University in the fall, will take the lessons that he learned with him as he moves on to a new chapter. “Being on the tennis team for four years has taught me the importance of hard work, not only for achieving your own goals but for the success of the team,” Idan says.
Senior Jonah H., who will be attending the University of Michigan, says, “Greeley tennis has allowed me to meet some awesome new people throughout the years. We’ve got a strong team with some talented young players. I think we can expect some big wins this year.”
Coach Richard Finn keeps the guys focused with personal perspective as a former Division I tennis player at Colgate University. Senior Leif S. is headed to the coach’s alma mater in the fall, though not for tennis.
There is a strong legacy of tennis players that have gone through Horace Greeley High School. For many, it is a defining part of their high school experience.
