Brooke A., Girls Varsity Basketball, Junior
In the January 28th matchup against Walter Panas, Brooke A. set the tone early with a breakaway layup to give the Quakers an early lead. Trailing 25-17 at halftime, Brooke helped ignite Greeley’s comeback, knocking down a momentum-shifting three pointer. She finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds, playing a key role in the Quakers’ success.
Malina S., Sophomore, Indoor Track
Sophomore track standout Malina S. has been making headlines this past week with a series of dominant performances. In the 600m, Malina shattered the school record with a time of 1:34.4, winning first place and 9th nationally in the event. She followed that up by winning the HS 1000m Invitational at the prestigious Scorcher Invitational clocking the 6th fastest time in all of New York. Malina also qualified for nationals in the 1600m Sprint Medley Relay, with the help of her teammates Gillian R., Riley M., and Gabby S. Malina’s breakout Sophomore season continues to impress, solidifying her as one of Greeley’s premier athletes.
Aaron C., Varsity Basketball, Junior
Aaron C., known for his high energy and team leadership, recently scored two points in a big win over Walter Panas. He is a fan favorite, as the crowd often chants “We want Aaron!” towards the end of big victories. Aaron has had a great season, and it will be exciting to see how it continues!
Chris N., Varsity Wrestling, Senior
Chris N. captured another county title this past week, dominating his competition and reclaiming his spot at the top of his weight class in Westchester. Chris has been recognized by lohud.com multiple times, and recently committed to Brown University to continue his wrestling career. Congratulations to Chris and keep up the great work!
